Is a roadworthy the same as a Safety Certificate or RWC?
Yes. In Queensland the official name is a Safety Certificate, but most people call it a roadworthy or RWC. You need one to sell a registered light vehicle, transfer its registration, or register a vehicle that came from interstate or was unregistered.
Can I get a mobile safety certificate in Queensland?
Yes. RWC333 is a QLD Transport Authorised Inspection Station, and we do mobile roadworthy inspections at your home, work or roadside.
How much does a roadworthy cost in QLD?
It depends on the vehicle and your location. Call or text us and we'll give you a quote straight away.
What will fail a roadworthy in QLD?
The most common fails are worn tyres, brakes, globes, windscreen damage in the driver's view, oil leaks and worn suspension parts. You get a written list of anything that needs fixing.
What if my vehicle fails?
You're free to get it fixed anywhere you like. If it's something small, we can often fix it on the spot, and we'll tell you the cost before doing any work. Once repaired, we come back to re-inspect.
How long is a QLD safety certificate valid?
For a private seller, 2 months or 2,000 km, whichever comes first.
Can I sell or transfer a car without a roadworthy in QLD?
In most cases, no. You need a current Safety Certificate to sell a registered light vehicle or transfer its registration in Queensland.
Bringing a car from interstate?
We inspect interstate vehicles for Queensland registration, at your home or work.
How long does a mobile roadworthy take?
Most light vehicles take 30–60 minutes.
How do I pay?
By card, paid when you book.
